Film: "Eric(h) Zeisl - An Unfinished Life"

A documentary film by Herbert Krill and Katharina Schulenberg-Leduc.

Premiere of a work-in-progress (about 75 min.)

Free for members, $ 5.00 for non-members. Buffet afterwards.
In attendance: Barbara Zeisl-Schoenberg, E.Randol Schoenberg, and the filmmakers.

Documentary film on Eric Zeisl (1905-1959), a Viennese composer of Jewish origin who had to flee Austria when the Nazis arrived. After an interlude in Paris he ended up in Los Angeles, where he tried to make a living by writing film scores and teaching music. He never really recovered from the sudden interruption of his career by his forced emigration. His early death precluded that he became widely known as a classical composer during his time. However, he is being re-discovered now, a phenomenon traced by this new film by Herbert Krill and Katharina Schulenberg-Leduc.
